Finding A Massage Therapist

To all the massage therapists who have been practicing for years - I see you and appreciate you!!!

Each therapist creates a unique atmosphere simply by having a presence/energy with each client.

Then there are the tools to be incorporated!!! All the special add-ons that make the therapist even more amazing - sound therapy, aroma therapy, Reiki, hot stone treatment, cupping, etc.

If you are "new" to massage or haven't been in a while, here are some recommendations for finding the perfect therapist for you:

  1. Check Licensing

This is important so you know the therapist has been trained to know about your body, where and how muscles work AND most importantly that they know the ethics of massage - how to drape and keep you safe.

2. Know What You Would Like

Having an ifea about what type of massage you want or what your end goal is will be helpful in choosing. Many therapists offer relaxation, deep tissue, full body, chair and a variety of specialty massages. At a minimum, be familiar or tell the therapist if you like soft touch or deep pressure or somewhere in between.

3. Ask Questions

No questions are “silly” or inappropriate. While receiving a massage, you will ne vulnerable. Some questions you may have could be…

  • What type of massage is your specialty?

  • How long and how much does the session cost?

  • Where do you hold sessions - home or office space?

4. Find Out How To Book a Session

Understand how to book a session and where to go if you have any questions. Most therapists have a website for booking and payment arrangements, others may work by referral only. Choose your comfort level.

Choose a massage therapist that is best for you!!!!
